Khammam: Telugu Desam leaders who fail to take part in party activities or conduct agitations and protest programmes in their local Assembly segments will be sidelined after being warned twice, said the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.
He revealed this while speaking at the party’s state-level meeting at Madiripuram under Tirumalayapalem mandal on Wednesday. His padayatra (Vastunna Meekosam) entered Khammam district late on Tuesday night.
Speaking on the occasion, he warned party district and segment-level leaders over their apathy towards people’s problems.
“My effort alone is not enough to retain power in the 2014 elections. Every leader and functionary has to take up agitations to expose the inefficient Congress government in the state which is leading to a crisis in all sectors like power, agriculture and irrigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Naidu is choosing a safe route for his six-day padayatra in Khammam district. He will tour the district from January 9 to 14.
He announced that on January 21, protests will be held at at all power sub-stations in the state and on January 25., protests to be conducted at Transco ADE’s offices on February 4. Coming down heavily on the TRS, Mr Naidu said that the TRS has no organisation, no cadre and has no attention on people-related issues. The party is surviving on sentiments alone, he added.
Earlier in the meeting, TD Telangana forum convener, Mr E. Dayakara Rao said that the TRS in Telangana and YSRC in Seemandhra will be wiped out from the people’s minds.
Later, Mr Naidu unveiled a 100-feet high pylon and spoke at a public meeting near the pylon. In the evening, he started padayatra from Madiripuram to Bachchodu via Subledu and Hasnabad.
TD district president, Mr K. Koteswara Rao, MP Mr N. Nageswara Rao and other leaders accompanied Mr Naidu.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
