Bad road not blamed in FIR of the Begumpet accident
Hyderabad: The First Information Report issued by Ramgopalpet police in the Begumpet accident, where a girl was killed, does not mention that the bike skidded off the road.
The 17-year-old fell on the road when the vehicle skidded off near Anand Theatre at Begumpet. She was run over by an RTC bus.
The FIR says that the RTC bus hit the bike driven by Vishal and pillion rider Riya Gudial, and ran over her. Inspector A. Ganga Reddy of the Ramgopalpet police said, “The complaint lodged with us didn’t say anything about the bad road. So we have issued the FIR accordingly. There is no case against any GHMC official.”
Greater Hyderabad Municipality Commission officials have said that the road falls under the jurisdiction of the Roads and Buildings Department.
After the incident, workers of the Metro rail cleaned up the area and levelled the road. Union minister S. Satayanarayan alleged that the work on the Metro is responsible for the bad roads in the city.
