Bail of Raju, 5 others cancelled

In a major setback to former Satyam CEO B. Ramalinga Raju, the Supreme Court on Tuesday cancelled his bail along with those of five co-accused and former top bosses of his company.

The Supreme Court accepted the CBI’s stand that their remaining outside jail had every chance of leading to tampering with evidence in the Satyam scam case.
Besides Mr Raju, the others are B. Rama Raju, former Satyam MD; G Ramakrishna, former vice-president (finance); Vadlamani Srinivas, former CFO; D. Venkatapathy Raju, former senior manager (finance); and Chetkuru Srisailaram, former assistant manager (finance).
A Supreme Court bench comprising Justices Dalveer Bhandari and Deepak Verma directed them to surrender before the jail authorities in Hyderabad by November 8.
