Cautioning BJP president Nitin Gadkari, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray on Saturday said that former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa is a “human bomb in the BJP”.
The Sena chief also warned the BJP about having to deal with many such bombs in the future in his editorial published in the party’s mouthpiece Saamna. “Mr Gadkari must always have to bear in mind that his path is paved with landmines,” the Sena chief wrote.
The Sena leader also said that the BJP president cannot afford to take any decision without Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi’s consent. “The outcome of the two-day meeting is that the BJP amended its constitution to pave way for Mr Gadkari’s second consecutive term as party president. But for that, Mr Gadkari had to get Mr Modi’s consent and also sacrifice Sanjay Joshi,” Mr Thackeray wrote, adding, “This established that in the BJP, no decision can be taken without Mr Modi’s approval.”
Referring to the growing prime ministerial ambitions of senior BJP leaders, Mr Thackeray said that earlier only L.K. Advani was the claimant for the post. “In the new script, several new heroes have stepped forward. Media says that besides Mr Advani, the list now includes Mr Gadkari, Mr Modi, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley,” the Sena chief wrote.
Mr Thackeray suggested that everybody keep personal ambitions aside and strive for the NDA’s victory in the next Lok Sabha elections.
The Sena chief also suggested that efforts be made to bring old allies Mamata Banerjee, Jayalalithaa and Naveen Patnaik back into the NDA fold.
Mr Gadkari also paid a personal visit to Mr Thackeray at his residence Matoshree in Bandra.
BJP sources described the meeting as a courtesy call by Mr Gadkari.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
