Balwa to Delhi HC: Quash 2G charges

Swan Telecom and DB Realty promoter Shahid Usman Balwa has moved the Delhi high court seeking quashing of the charges framed against him by the trial court in the 2G spectrum allocation case.

The matter is likely to come up before Justice M.L. Mehta on February 27. Balwa was arrested on February 9 last year by the CBI after DB Realty’s name appeared in the alleged money trail in the multi-crore scam. He was granted bail, along with four other corporate executives, by the Supreme Court in November last year.
Special CBI judge O.P. Saini had on October 22, 2011 framed charges against Balwa and 16 other accused in the case for offences, including cheating and forgery.
