Banner in Chennai hails Osama Bin Laden
A flexiboard hailing the âmartyrdomâ of Osama Bin Laden, the slain leader of banned terrorist outfit Al Qaeda, put up by the India National League party near Triplicane mosque since May 2, has caused consternation among the people, especially the police.
âIt will have to be removed. We will pull it down,â a senior city police officer told Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday night when asked about the banner.
The flexiboard was put up to observe the first death anniversary of Osama, who was killed by US Navy Seals in a secret operation in Abottabad in Pakistan on the night of May 1, 2011.
âThose dead who followed the path of Allah should not be called dead. One should think that they are still alive,â says the banner.
