Battered baby Falak dies at AIIMS hospital: Doctor
After battling for life at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for the past 60 days, two-year-old battered baby Falak died late on Thursday of cardiac arrest, doctors confirmed.
"The baby died of cardiac arrest. She suffered cardiac arrest at 9 p.m. and was declared dead at 9.40 p.m," Deepak Agrawal, assistant professor neurosurgery at AIIMS said.
Described as India's little darling, baby Falak was to be discharged in a week's time from the hospital. Doctors attending to her had even expressed confidence that it will be a full recovery.
The toddler was found abandoned with a fractured skull, bruises and human bite marks all over her body. Falak underwent five surgeries. The 14-year-old girl who left her at the hospital is now in a juvenile care home.
