Be prepared for Hindu terror queries, BJP told
Apprehending that it might be cornered in Parliament over the Hindu terror issue, the BJP has asked all its senior MPs to gear up to counter any attack on it or the RSS by the Opposition parties. On Monday, the BJP top brass, including Leaders of the Opposition in both Houses and its parliamentary party chairman L.K. Advani, discussed this issue.
The party, it is learnt, has asked its senior leaders and also those MPs who mostly participate in debates and discussions in both Houses of Parliament to go through the case details of those right-wing activists, including some RSS leaders allegedly involved in bomb blast cases, including the Ajmer and Mecca Masjid blasts.
The BJP is of the view that with no proof against those RSS leaders, allegedly involved in the terror attacks, its line of defence has become a bit simpler.
Recent reports in some section of the media had named some senior RSS leaders allegedly involved in the bomb blast cases. Though both the RSS and the BJP had rubbished these reports, both are of the view that the Opposition, including the Left parties, would rake up the issue in the forthcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The RSS had asked the BJP to defend it whenever the Sangh is attacked over the Hindu terror issue. Both the senior RSS leadership and BJP top brass had held meetings on this issue recently.
The BJP also apprehends that on the Hindu terror issue even the Left parties, with whom it had floor coordination on the price rise issue when attacking the UPA government, would also leave no chance to attack the main Opposition party.
A senior BJP functionary said with the Assembly election in West Bengal approaching and the state having a considerable number of minority votes, the Left parties would raise the issue to “garner minority votes”.
