Bhuria arrives in Bhopal to take charge as MP Congress chief
Newly appointed Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kantilal Bhuria arrived at the Raja Bhoj airport here on Friday to a warm welcome from a large number of party leaders and workers.
Bhuria arrived here in a special plane along with a number of senior party leaders in the state led by Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh.
Others who came along with the two were Union ministers, Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Arun Yadav.
Congress workers in large numbers had begun gathering at the Raja Bhoj airport much before the arrival of the party leaders who all came from New Delhi.
From the airport, the leaders went in a procession which after passing through various parts of the city would end at the Madhya Pradesh PCC office.
Here, Bhuria would formally take charge as state Congress president. A public meeting would be held there later in the day, which would be addressed by prominent party leaders.
Those who were present to welcome the leaders included the new leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh, Madhya Pradesh Assembly deputy Speaker Harvansh Singh, and a large number of party MPs and MLAs from the state.
