Bhuria attacks MP govt over issue of corruption
Madhya Pradesh Congress president and Union minister for tribal affairs Kantilal Bhuria on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of adopting double standards on the issue of corruption.
To drive home his point, Mr Bhuria focused attention on the latest controversy surrounding the induction of the Bellary brothers in the B.S. Yeddyurappa Cabinet in Karnataka, which has been raised by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.
Mr Bhuria also lashed out at the BJP led Madhya Pradesh government, saying illegal mining has become a big menace in the state but no one is raising a voice, not even Ms Swaraj. He went on to allege that those close to the ruling party set up were busy generating huge amounts of black money through illegal mining in the state.
Talking to this newspaper, Mr Bhuria said corruption is at its peak under the present BJP regime in Madhya Pradesh. There are massive irregularities in the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) in the state, he said, adding that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already been briefed on this. Corruption, he went on to emphasise, has seeped from top to bottom under the present state BJP government.
