Big B fumes over a fake video on backing Modi
Sharing superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s concern over a fake YouTube video, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi on Thursday sought an apology from its creator.
The video suggested Mr Bachchan was backing Mr Modi for PM.
After a furious Mr Bachchan threatened legal action, a Rajkot music composer apologised for uploading it. But he claimed he hadn’t created it but got it through a social media tool.
Mr Bachchan, Gujarat Tourism’s brand ambassador, said the video was made by manipulating a voiceover he did in 2007 for a “Lead India” campaign. He called the video “an illegal act, inviting strong action, one that I am appalled by, and one that has no concurrence from me at all”.
Mr Modi tweeted: “Agree with @SrBachchan. The author of the fake video should take action immediately and apologise to Amitabhji”.
