BJP attacks PM on black money issue
Seizing the opportunity to attack the ruling UPA in the wake of Supreme Court’s observation on the issue of black money stashed in foreign banks, main Opposition BJP on Saturday accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of breaching parliamentary propriety by not keeping his promise made in Rajya Sabha to get back the ill-gotten wealth.
Reacting to the apex court’s pointers to the government’s reluctance to disclose names of Indians who allegedly stashed black money in foreign banks, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “On July 30, 2009 the PM had categorically told the RS that action has already started for getting back the money belonging to Indians from Swiss Banks. He should at least reveal the names of these people. What is the difficulty in that?”

age correspondent
Lucknow
Jan. 15: Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav, on Saturday, came down heavily against the Congress on the demolition of the Noor Masjid in Jangpura in Delhi.
“The Congress wants to create another Ayodhya. The court may have declared the mosque illegal but the Delhi government should have respected religious sentiments. The concerned authorities could have found a way out through negotiations. In any case, tall the facts were not properly placed before the court,” he said at a press conference here on Saturday. “The Congress did the same during the opening of locks in Ayodhya and then the ‘shilanyas’ and finally the demolition of Babri mosque. The Congress is behind all this and Muslims all over are agitated on the issue. There were over 2 lakh Muslims at the Friday prayers in Jama Masjid and their anger was palpable,” he said.
