BJP blames Nehru’s ‘erroneous’ vision
India was paying for the blunders of the “Nehruvian vision on Jammu & Kashmir” where in the last few years the separatists adopted a methodology of mass protests and stone throwing — an alternative form of violence.
Article 370 has worked against the interests of the people of the state. It has created a psychological barrier between the state and the rest of India. It has given hope to the Separatists both outside and within that the political and constitutional relationship of the state with India could be terminated. Therefore Article 370 should be revoked.
This was stated in the Kashmir centric resolution passed in the day-long meeting of BJP national office bearers including the party president Nitin Gadkari former deputy Prime Minister and home minister L.K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, national spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad besides other stalwarts here on Thursday in the winter capital.
As per the resolution, repeated internationalisation of the issue, a faint hope of “Azadi”, instigation of cross-border terrorism, the efforts of the separatists to perpetuate violence and terror in the valley have all resulted in the complete failure of the separate status theory of Jammu & Kashmir. It stated that 63 years after independence the culmination of historic blunders and monumental lapses of successive Congress governments have resulted in the problems of the state of Jammu & Kashmir which are continuing to confront us.
The periodic spurt of violence instigated from across the border and by the separatists results in a cycle of inconvenience and misery for the common man.
