BJP CMs to learn from Modi
BJP leader and Gujarat chief minister Mr Narendra Modi, who was recently summoned by Supreme Court-appointed SIT for his alleged role in the 2002 post-Godhra riots, would be giving the key note address to chief ministers of BJP-rules states on good governance. The BJP is organising a two-day-long national convention in Mumbai from June 5 “Suraj Sankalp” on the issue of good governance.
“The conference will focus on review of some very noteworthy and innovative welfare or development initiatives,” said BJP Governance Cell, convenor and former Goa chief minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar.
When asked why Mr Modi was chosen for delivering the keynote address, Mr Parrikar said the decision was taken keeping his “good” track-record of governance in mind as well as the fact that he is the “senior most” chief minister.
Mr Parrikar is the in-charge of the conclave which would be inaugurated by BJP chief Mr Nitin Gadkari, who had ann-ounced at the party’s Indore meet in February that the party cadre would have to undergo training programmes. Senior BJP leader Mr Yashwant Sinha will present a charter on good governance during the valedictory address.
