BJP cold to PM’s PAC letter
New Delhi, Dec. 27: The BJP was on Monday unmoved by the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh’s letter to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chief, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, expressing his readiness to appear before the panel and said if he is clean then he should not be “nervous” about facing a JPC.
“Soon after the PM offered to appear before the PAC, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha had clarified the BJP stand that we are still firm on our stand for a JPC. The party stand remains the same today,” the BJP spokesperson, Mr Shahnawaz Hussain said.
He contended that the PAC is not competent enough to look into all aspects of the `1.76 lakh crore scam.
