Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party president Narendra Singh Tomar on Sunday passed a one-line order expelling from the party tainted party leader Raghavji, who had to quit as state finance minister on Friday after he was accused of sexually exploiting his male servants.
On Sunday, the Habibganj police Station here also registered an FIR against Mr. Raghavji under sections 377 and 506 of Indian Penal Code. While section 377 covers sodomy, 506 relates to threatening someone with dire consequences.
Raghavji had earlier this year presented the tenth consecutive state budget in the Assembly. His expulsion rom the BJP and the filing of FIR against him is being viewed as a face-saving mechanism by the ruling side ahead of the Monsoon Session of the State Assembly starting on Monday.
The Monsoon Session is expected to be stormy as it would be the last session before the coming Assembly election and the main Opposition Congress has decided not to miss any opportunity to put the ruling side in the dock on issues like “corruption, illegal mining, poor law and order and atrocities on women and deprived sections”
When contacted, a section of the Opposition Congress MLAs said they have done their homework and have charged their arsenal to hit out at the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led state BJP government especially during the debate on the no-confidence motion they have already submitted. The latest CD scandal allegedly involving senior state Bharatiya Janata Party leader Raghavji, who was forced to quit as state finance minister last Friday on being accused of sexually exploiting his male servants, is also a thorn in the ruling BJP side and the matter is bound to rock the House proceedings.
Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajay Singh had announced in the House during the last Assembly session that the state BJP government will find it difficult to duck charges when they bring up the no-confidence motion.
The Monsoon Sssion, which would be the 17th session of the 13th state Assembly, would conclude on July 19.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
