BJP, JD-U tiff was stage-managed: LJP
Accusing Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar of “playing the RSS game”, Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) on Thursday claimed that the recent tiff between the ruling alliance partners — JD(U) and BJP — was nothing, but a “stage-managed” ploy to “confuse people” in the state ahead of assembly elections.
Referring to the tiff, LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan said, the incident had “exposed” Mr Kumar and his government on Kosi flood relief. He demanded that a judicial or CBI probe should be conducted to find out the amount of aid received by the state and how much was spent. “JD(U) and BJP are engaging in shadow boxing. There appears to be an agreement between BJP and JD-U that they would play Hindu and Muslim cards, respectively, to confuse voters,” the dalit leader said, adding that the tiff was “stage-managed” as per the RSS strategy and Mr Kumar was playing the Sangh Parivar game.
Mr Paswan said while the BJP was trying to bring Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi to the forefront to garner Hindu votes, Mr Kumar was talking of Muslim Dalits to woo minorities.
“People have seen through this double game and the NDA will pay heavily for it,” the leader claimed.
Last month, Mr Kumar, who belongs to JD(U), had snubbed the BJP by cancelling a dinner for its top leadership after advertisements were published in local dailies showing him with Mr Modi.
He also returned Rs 5 crore given to Bihar government by Gujarat government in 2008 for Kosi flood relief.
