BJP leader named in CBI chargesheet
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has mentioned the name of a senior BJP leader and former minister Rajendra Rathore in a chargesheet filed against suspects in the Dara Singh alias Dariya encounter case. The CBI described the incident in which Dariya was killed on October, 23, 2006 in Mansarovar area of Jaipur as “stage-managed.”
The CBI has filed a chargesheet before a special court in Jaipur on Friday. According to sources, Mr Rathore’s name is mentioned as a conspirator. But Mr Rathore termed it as a conspiracy against him. He told mediapersons that the whole episode of mentioning his name in the chargesheet was aimed to stage a political encounter to harm him. ‘The CBI s role is questionable and innocent people have been framed in the case,” he said mediaperson.
Though Mr Rathore’s name has been mentioned in the chargesheet, but it said the investigation on this issue is yet to be completed.
The CBI has named more than a dozen policemen in the chargesheet, ranging from a sub-inspector to a additional director general of police.
