BJP may ask Yeddy to quit

B.S. Yeddyurappa’s days as Karnataka chief minister could be over soon. Sources from the BJP on Thursday said that the Karnataka CM would be asked to resign in few days.

Mr Yeddyurappa is under attack from opposition parties in Karnataka for allotting denitrified government land to companies in which his sons and relatives have interest. Following, former Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan’s ouster because of the Adarsh scam, the BJP is also under pressure to remove Mr Yeddyurappa.
A senior BJP leader said, “Mr Yeddyurappa has to go. The allegations against him are serious. He may not be asked to resign in a day or two, but in a week’s time the party will ask him to step down.”
The BJP leader further informed that due procedure will be followed as per the party’s constitution before asking Mr Yeddyurappa to resign. Another BJP leader, while admitting that the party president would eventually ask Mr Yeddyurappa to resign, added, “It was Nitin Gadkari who directed the Karnataka CM that his relatives would have to return the government land at first. It is the indication that top party leaders think that there were irregularities while allotting the lands.”
Meanwhile, BJP president Nitin Gadkari refused to commit anything about Mr Yeddyurappa’s fate. “We are holding a meeting at 6.30 pm to discuss the Karnataka issue after which we will clarify our stand on it,” he said.
Mr Gadkari also alleged that Karnataka governor, Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress party have been trying to destabilise the Karnataka government. “We have seen over the past few months that there have been repeated attempts to destabilise Karnataka government.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
