BJP readies for ‘biggest-ever’ MP rally

The ruling BJP is making preparations on a war footing for the September 25 rally in Bhopal, which will be addressed by the party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
According to state BJP unit president Narendra Singh Tomar, this will be the biggest political rally to be organised by any political party in Bhopal.
A ruling party senior said that the BJP bashers have reason to be disappointed as BJP leader L.K. Advani on Monday made it clear that there is no rift in the party by praising Mr Modi’s leadership and giving him full credit for ensuring Gujarat takes the lead in supplying electricity to all villages in the state. He said that Mr Advani would also be there at the Bhopal rally.
Besides banking heavily on the party cadres, who would be activated at the polling booth level to mobilse votes, the BJP is confident of winning maximum support from the tribal voters in the forthcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly election. The party has also gone into the accelerated mode to win the support of the Scheduled Castes and dalits. The state BJP president, who took part in a dharna (sit-in protest) organised by the “Anusuchit Jati Morcha” (Scheduled Caste cell) of the State BJP unit at Neelam park here on Monday to demand that the Sachar Committee recommendations be scrapped, said that both the Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party have done nothing for the upliftment and progress of dalits.
The BJP, he said, has always stood by the dalits and will remain committed to their cause.
The BJP is also confident of state chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan getting overwhelming support from the minority Muslim voters in the coming election.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
