BJP, RSS concerned over Durja Puja
It’s the BJP and the RSS who are apparently now concerned over Durga Puja.
While the BJP had sent a fact-finding team in Denganga, North 24 Paraganas, over the recent communal disturbances, RSS mouthpiece Organiser has expressed concern over the problem in holding Durga Puja in the area. The saffron camp, which has not a player in Bengal and has a mere five to six per cent vote share, is trying to f
ish in troubled waters to get inroads.
Senior BJP leader Mr Vinaya Katiyar along with Bengal incharge Siddharth Nath Singh launched a scathing attack on its erstwhile ally during their recent visit to Denganga. While there is a controversy raging over holding Durga Puja in the area, the BJP is backing the saffron brigade is backing the faction, which intends to holds the puja. Mr Katiyar, not merely blamed the Trinamul for fomenting trouble in the area but also called her a “Surpnakha, trying to create trouble in Ram Rajya.”
The BJP fact-finding team has submitted its report to the party chief Nitin Gadkari.
Incidentally, though the BJP is hardly a player in Bengal, the party has been making desperate attempts for making inroads in the state.
The party has asked its state unit chief to camp in Denganga and push for holding Durga Puja. “We have also given the names of some Trinamul Congress leaders creating trouble in the area,” Mr Siddharth Nath Singh said.
