BJP’s hera pheri ji to get votes
Cashing in on the popularity of Tamil song Kolaveri Di, the BJP will soon unveil a parody of the song, to be titled Hera Pheri Ji, as part of its election campaign in the poll-bound states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
The parody will have satirical comments on the Manmohan Singh government on issues ranging from corruption, price rise and coalition compulsions. The song also mimics Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The parody starts with a couplet by Urdu poet Ghalib, Koi umeed bar nahin aati, koi surat nazar nahin aati, and then the lyrics begin: “Yo janta... I am telling you a story... My story... Sad story.” It then goes on to raise issues like corruption, price rise and how the government has failed on most fronts, including economy, leaving the “aam aadmi” feeling helpless. The BJP will launch the video in poll-bound states.
