BJP to support Sangma for the presidential poll
BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Thurday said her party will support P.A. Sangma for the presidential poll.
As the main opposition, BJP did not want to give a walkover to Congress because there was no prior consultation by the UPA with the party, said Swaraj.
However, Sushma admitted the NDA is divided over Sangma and appealed to allies Shiv Sena and JD-U to revisit their position of not supporting Sangma.
''It is unfortunate and irrelevant debate,'' says Swaraj on Nitish Kumar's statement that PM should have 'secular' credentials.
Further, she said her party would try to bring Mamata Banerjee on board over the question of extending support to Sanga for the presidential polls.
