BJP: Terror charge is outlandish
Attacking the Congress for skipping the corruption issue during its AICC session, the main Opposition BJP on Tuesday said the Congress has become “indifferent to corruption” by maintaining a “complete silence” on the issue. The party also accused the Congress of targeting RSS leaders on terror links as a diversionary tactic.
Claiming that there are enough documentary evidence against Maharashtra chief minister Ashok Chavan for his alleged involvement in Adarsh Housing Society scam, BJP national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said: “Everyone knows a probe is on. But, the chief minister’s (Ashok Chavan) resignation has not been accepted by the party. The party is silent on corruption. Has it become neutral towards corruption?”
The BJP reiterated its demand of sacking of Mr Chavan. The party had already said that it will raise this issue along with 2G spectrum allocation and CWG scams in the Winter Session.
Ms Sitharaman said the AICC has met at a time when the ruling party is hit by string of scandals but the Congress seems to be “neutral” to all these corruption charges.
She said the senior Congress leaders who spoke at the AICC session had skipped the issue of corruption.
