Blackberry likely to escape ban
New Delhi: The Canadian makers of Blackberry — Research in Motion — is likely to escape a ban on its popular core services after it has managed to satisfy the Indian security agencies by providing “manual interception” of its core Blackberry Messenger service (BBM), reports our correspondent.
Government sources said the users of blackberry services in the country do not have much to worry about the phone services being blocked. The technical group is expected to meet next week to discuss the finer points based on which the BBM service will be allowed to continue. The sources, however, said that it may take four months before a final solution emerges on allowing security agencies access to both BBM service.
