Thakur then hit her with a tractor following which her saree got entangled in the vehicle. He allegedly began dragging her in the village till she got seriously injured.
Later, villagers rushed the woman, in a serious condition to, a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead.
On the complaint of the family members of the woman, police initially registered a case of accident against Thakur, but when the villagers protested, charges of murder were also slapped against him.
Later, Superintendent of Police RP Singh asked the Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) to conduct an inquiry into the incident and also probe the role of the Khod Police Post In-charge Nagendra Singh behind the incident.
