BMW kills two, injures four
In yet another incident involving a BMW, a speeding car rammmed into a vehicle on Saturday here killing two people, including a woman, and critically injured four others, all of a family, police said.
The incident took place near IFFCO Chowk Metro station here when the luxary BMW SUV, bearing number plate-HR 26 AV 0007 had a head on collision with an Indigo car. Six people were in the car. The driver of the BMW is absconding.
A woman, Kushan Chopra (35), and Sanjay Gulati (34) died on the spot. Rajender Chopra (68) Meena Chopra (65), Daksh (25) and Sanjay Sethi (38) were injured and have been admitted to a hospital.
All the six hail from Bhilai district of Madhya Pradesh.
"After the treatment of a family member in the Medicity hospital, the victims were returning to their hometown in the Indigo car. The speeding BMW hit the Indigo near IFFCO chowk Metro station," investigating officer Jagdish Prashad Rai said.
"The BMW is registered on the name of Devender Singh Sehrawat of Sector 14. Singh is a property dealer. The driver of SUV left it at the spot and fled," he added.
Police have registered a case against the driver.
On April 15, three people, including a minor girl, were critically injured after a speeding BMW car hit the motorcycle they were travelling on near Rajghat in central Delhi.
