Body of Naxal found during search operation in Dantewada
Security forces on Tuesday combed Chhattisgarh's Dantewada area where a fierce encounter with the Naxals took place and found a body of a Maoist in battle fatigues.
"We have found the body of a Naxal in battle fatigues. The scene of the encounter has a lot of blood marks and has indications that bodies have been pulled away by the Maoists," additional director general (Naxal operations) Ram Niwas said.
Naxals are known to carry away the bodies of cadres killed in encounters.
The Police had yesterday claimed to have gunned down 30 Naxals in the encounter in Dantewada district after an ambush by the extremists left three policemen dead and nine others injured.
He said, "combing operations are on and the Naxals, after the encounter, may not have gone very far. The operation is continuing".
He said the condition of one of the injured jawans is stated to be critical and he has been admitted in a Raipur hospital while eight others have been admitted to Maharani hospital in Jagdalpur.
According to Niwas, a police team of 145 jawans was on a search operation in the Chintalnaar area, when the Naxal struck on Monday.
He had said that Naxals had used villagers as human shield to carry out the ambush and that nearly 150 of their armed cadres were involved in the attack.
