Body parts of dalit girl chopped off

Fatehpur: Body parts of a 16-year-old dalit girl were allegedly chopped off by three youths when she resisted rape attempt in Bindaki area, police said here today.

Three youths forcibly dragged the girl, when she had gone out for some work, into a field and attempted to rape her late last night, Superintendent of Police Ram Bharose said, adding one of them had been arrested.

He said when the girl resisted rape attempt and raised alarm, the trio chopped off her nose, ear and part of hand. The girl was later rushed to the district hospital from where she was referred to Kanpur in a serious condition.

The SP said an FIR had been lodged against the trio.
