Bodybuilder from syria dies in Mumbai
The police has initiated probe into the mysterious death of a Syrian bodybuilder, who dropped dead two days before an international bodybuilding event in Mumbai on Friday. While the police has registered an accidental death report for the moment, comprehensive inquiries have been undertaken to check for any indications of foul play before issuing a clean chit to any party involved.
According to police sources deceased Mahmoud Ibrahim Alhdidi (29) was one of the 200 participants in the 65th Men’s World Amateur Bodybuilding Championship and International Congress organised by the Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
Mahmoud Alhdidi was supposed to participate in the 75 kg category on Sunday at the championship, which was scheduled to be held at the Andheri Sports Complex.

School to pay relief to raped student

Guwahati high court ordered the Central government to pay `10 lakhs as compensation to a girl student of the Navodaya Vidyalaya in south Tripura who was raped within the school premises by her principal Hari Shankar Tiwari 11 years ago and subsequently delivered a child.
Justice A.C. Upaddhaya instructed the Central government to pay the amount as the accused is serving a life imprisonment after his guilt was proved in the court. The parents of the girl had filed the case seeking compensation for maintenance of the victim and the child she delivered.
The victim was a Class 8 student residing in the girl’s hostel within the school premises in the year 1999 when the incident took place.
