Bond 23 to be shot in Delhi, Mumbai, Goa
James Bond may soon be seen shopping at Sarojini Nagar Market or having kebabs at Daryaganj. The information and broadcasting ministry has approved shooting of the latest 007 film, tentatively titled Bond 23, in India. The $200 million movie, with Daniel Craig as 007, will be the second Bond film shot in India after Octopussy.
The government cleared the filming despite objections in some quarters. In New Delhi, shooting was approved at Sarojini Nagar Market, Daryaganj and Ansari Road, sources said.
The ministry also said it has no objection to some scenes being filmed in Mumbai and Goa.
The filmmakers have been urged to take precautions to “ensure that local sentiments were not hurt” and shoot only at places sanctioned by the government.
The crew has been told to secure permission from the Indian Railways and state governments for filming at any vital installations.
