Brit woman alleges molestation in Goa

A British woman was allegedly molested by a taxi driver at Candolim near here, police said on Friday.

The incident took place yesterday when accused Umesh Dhargalkar molested her in the lobby of a hotel where she was put up in the beach village, they said.

The woman alleged that the accused tried to get friendly with her while she was taking a walk with her minor daughter in the lobby and when she did not oblige, he molested her.

The taxi driver was arrested after people gathered and handed him over to the police when the victim raised an alarm.

The accused hails from Dhargalim village in Goa. Police said that the victim, who was holidaying here with her family, is supposed to leave on Friday but has told them that she will appear before the court as and when required.
