BSY headache in store for Gowda government

Evidently troubled by the dwindling number of camp-followers ahead of the crucial core committee meeting on Saturday, beleaguered former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa plans to give a torrid time to his successor D.V. Sadananda Gowda by posing many a hurdle in the day-to-day administration.

That’s not the only headache in store for the chief minister. Mr Yeddyurappa and his acolytes plan to embark on a statewide tour after analysing the political import of decisions likely at the core committee meeting in New Delhi on Saturday.
Speaking to this newspaper, a die-hard supporter of the former chief minister said, “Mr Yeddyurappa has chosen to lie low till March 10 as astrologers seem to have told him to do so. Moreover, it will also give us the required time to prepare ourselves to face inner as well as outer enemies.”
The supporter added that Mr Yeddyurappa seemed worried about the dip in the number of his camp-followers. “Now, he has realised that we need time to build consensus in favour of him. So, we have adopted multi-pronged strategies to revive our fortune. First, to counter Mr Gowda and Mr Eshwarappa on every count. We will corner the CM on release of funds to constituencies represented by rival party members. The ministers loyal to Mr Yeddyurappa will not sign the files pertaining to projects approved by the CM. Second, Mr Yeddyurappa will start touring the state on his own and will allow only his supporters to share the dais. Finally, we plan to organise conventions and rallies,” he added.
