BSY to lead K’taka Janata Party Nov. 9
Former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will begin his political journey anew on November 9 when he will be elected president of Karnataka Janata Party (KJP), a hitherto unknown outfit which has the only advantage of being registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Padmanabha Prasanna Kumar, president of KJP, held talks with Mr Yeddyurappa and former Union minister Dhanan-jaya Kumar and told reporters that the state executive of KJP has been convened on November 9 at BSY’s office in Malleswa-ram when he will be elected party chief. “After Yeddyu-rappa takes charge of KJP, we will inform the Election Commission about the new arrangement”, he said.
Prasanna Kumar had submitted a letter to the ECI seeking the cycle symbol for KJP which comes under the “free symbols” category. Mr Yeddyurappa told reporters that his new party will be formally launched on December 10. He did not forget to take a swipe at BJP leaders for trying to ‘derail’ his attempts to launch a new party and for trying to confuse his supporters. “My association with the BJP leadership is a closed chapter. I am busy building my new party”, he said.
Sources said BSY met well known astrologer Ravi Narayan at his residence and discussed what the stars forecast for him and his new party.
