BSY & relatives now fear arrest

Fear of arrest — this summed up the sombre mood at the Race Course residence of former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa who has to face CBI probe with the Supreme Court accepting the CEC recommendations. The entire family was so confident that nothing would happen. Then came the Supreme Court order which brought gloom.
“Political conspiracy hatched against me has made me an accused in illegal mining though it is I who stopped it. I am facing the trouble after doing good work. I know how to come out of this political labyrinth,” Mr Yeddy-urappa claimed. He, however, said “I welcome the SC decision.”
“The SC order was unexpected and shocking, especially since my father (BSY) believed that nothing could go wrong as he had done nothing wrong. If he was really guilty of any crime, could he have confidently addressed a public gathering at Nanjangud a few minutes after hearing about the SC order?” asked Aruna Devi, daughter of Mr Yeddyurappa.

Yeddyurappa is BJP’s true face, says congress

After Supreme Court directed a CBI probe against former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Friday, the BJP said it respects the court’s judgment and insisted that it wants the “truth to come out” through an “impartial” probe by the investigating agency. However, the Congress said Mr Yeddyurappa is BJP’s “true face” and instead of disrupting Parliament on “baseless allegation” of corruption, the main Opposition should “introspect.” “We respect the court judgment. We want an impartial inquiry. We want the truth to come out,” said BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain. Sources said the SC’s judgment has given some relief to the BJP top brass, especially after Mr Yeddyurappa’s supporters had objected to a letter written by Karnataka chief minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda to party chief Nitin Gadkari against some state leaders (considered close to Mr Yeddyrappa) involved in anti-party activities.
