BSY threat still hangs over BJP
Belligerent supporters of former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa followed up their resignations with a charg-esheet against chief minister D.V. Sadan-anda Gowda to general secretary in-charge of Karnataka, Dharm-endra Pradhan, and look set to up the ante yet again on Sunday when they found that their demand for chan-ge in leadership would be dealt with by the party’s parliamentary board in New Delhi on-ly on Tuesday, July 3.
As if that were not enough, the ministers who had quit on Friday were reportedly told to withdraw their resignation letters before the parliamentary boa-rd meets, a move which saw Mr Yeddyurappa walk out of a meeting with Mr Pradhan at his Dollar’s Colony residence. The abrupt end to the meeting was followed by Mr Yeddyu-rappa inviting legislators to a strategy sessi-on on Sunday where he is expected to hammer out a new course of action. In comparison, Mr Sadananda Gowda went about his business wearing his trademark smile, and took potshots at his predecessor at an education convention.
Mr Pradhan, meanwhile, had to contend with allegations and counter-allegations thr-oughout his day-long visit with the factions led by Mr Yeddyurappa and Mr Sanananda Go-wda trading charges.
