Buzz rises in Cong on early polls
Speculation about the possibility of advancing the Lok Sabha polls is refusing to die down, with some Congress ministers predicting it could be held either by the end of this year or in February-March 2014.
A Cabinet minister said Wednesday the election might be advanced for two reasons: one, the divisions in the BJP on Narendra Modi as PM candidate; and two, the food security legislation.
“We may not implement food security programme till April-May. And if the election is on schedule, it will be in (those) months next year. The best time to go to the polls is just after passing the food bill,” said the minister.
