C’garh Cong’s 11.11.11.11.11.11 poll campaign
The Congress on Friday launched its “Mission 2013” to wrest power from the ruling BJP in Chhattisgarh in the coming Assembly polls, in style, by beginning its campaign for 11 Bastar seats — considered crucial to return to power at Raipur — on the “auspicious” time of 11 hours 11 minutes and 11 seconds on the “lucky” date of 11.11.11.
The party virtually blew the poll beguile for the 2013 Assembly polls by organising the first rally of party workers in Bastar region at Dantewada after a gap of three years. Three such rallies are scheduled to be held at Narayanpur, Kanker and Kondagaon in Bastar on Saturday to galvanise the Congress machinery in the tribal-dominated Bastar.
“We chose Bastar to launch our campaign for the coming Assembly polls to cash in on strong resentment of tribals of the region against the Raman Singh government for lack of development works in the area in the past eight years”, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) president Nand Kumar Patel told reporters here.
