The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday began rigorous custodial remand in connection with the alleged fake encounter of Sohrabuddin, murder of his wife Kauser Bi. Two lawyers representing Mr Shah, Mitesh Amin and Yatin Oza were present at “visible distance” as per the court order. “We started his interrogation around

10 in the morning and will continue till 10 pm. We had a lunch break for an hour,” a CBI official said. The CBI officials said they interrogated Mr Shah for his involvement in conspiracy, whether he received money for extortion, whether he passed any oral instruction to the police officials for tempering with evidence and botching up the investigation process and whether chief minister Narendra Modi was aware of his alleged involvement in all these activities.
