CBI may charge Kalaignar TV stakeholders
The CBI is likely to mention the names of certain stakeholders of Chennai-based Kalaignar TV in its second chargesheet in the investigation of the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
The second chargesheet, to be filed April 25, is likely to name at least five persons as accused, including Mr Asif Balwa (brother of Shahid Balwa of Swan Telecom) and Mr Rajeev Aggrawal (director, Con-wood Constructions and Developers, a partner of Dynamix Realty).
According to sources the agency is preparing to name at least two persons from Kalaignar TV in its charge-sheet apart from Kalignar TV MD Sharad Kumar, who has already been under scrutiny.
“The agency has already questioned Tamil Nadu chief minister M. Karunanidhi’s wife, Dayalu Ammal, and daughter Kanimozhi about the Rs 200 crore loan given to Kalaignar TV by Mr Balwa’s Swan Telecom,” sources said, adding, “Both Dayalu Ammal and Kanimozhi are reportedly stakeholders in Kalignar TV.
The agency has already recorded the statements of both in connection with its probe related to the loan given by Swan Telecom. The statements of both will also be mentioned in the chargesheet.”
CBI officials have still not found the original papers of the agreement dated Dece-mber 19, 2008 allegedly executed between M/s Cineyug Films (P) Ltd and Chennai-based Kalaignar TV.
