CBI may quiz Baijal once more
New Delhi, Feb. 4: The CBI, probing into the 2G spectrum scam, on Friday confronted the former telecom minister, Mr A. Raja, with direct questions related to the alleged stakes of his family members in the Chennai-based Green House Promoters.
The agency is also mulling over questioning Mr Pradip Baijal, the former chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, again. He is supposed to explain why the Trai did not take action against those companies who failed to fulfil roll-out obligations and comply with other conditions of licence, sources added.
The agency is likely to make more arrests in a day or two in connection with its probe. It questioned Mr A.K. Srivastava, the former deputy director general in the DoT, on Friday.
Further, the officials also asked the former telecom minister specific questions about the allotment of 2G licences to Swan (worth `1,537 crore) and Unitech (`1,658 crore) at a very nominal rate, sources said.
