CBI may quiz RSS leader again
The CBI is likely to question senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary Indresh Kumar again in connection with its probe into the Mecca Masjid blast case.
According to sources, Mr Kumar has been asked by the CBI to submit certain documents. Mr Kumar will submit the documents sought by the agency and is likely to be called again for questioning, the sources added.
The CBI recently questioned Mr Kumar in connection with the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast in Hyderabad. The agency asked him specific questions related to his speech after the 2002 blast near Raghunath Mandir in Jammu.
The senior RSS functionary was questioned for almost six hours. CBI officials had maintained that Mr Kumar was questioned in connection with the Mecca Masjid blast and that he was asked about the facts and circumstances related to the incident. Mr Kumar had said the CBI’s move to question him was a “conspiracy” by the Congress and denied any involvement in the case.
