CBI to record Gen. statement

The CBI is set to record the statement of Chief of Army Staff General V.K. Singh by Tuesday in connection with its probe related to his allegation that bribes had been offered to him for procurement of nearly 600 “sub-standard” trucks for the Indian Army.
Sources in the agency said, “CBI sleuths are in touch with Gen. Singh. His statement is likely to be recorded by Tuesday. After recording the Army Chief’s statement, agency sleuths will also record the statement of a retired official who allegedly met Gen. Singh on September 22, 2010 and offered him a bribe of `14 crore for procurement of “sub-standard trucks”.
