CBI will quiz Dayanidhi Maran on Maxis deal

CBI is preparing to quiz former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran in connection with alleged irregularities in the Aircel-Maxis deal.

Sources said the agency would soon issue summons to the former minister. The deal had taken place during Mr Dayanidhi’s tenure.

CBI recently registered a case against Mr Dayanidhi, his brother Mr Kalanidhi and five others for alleged irregularities in the deal.

In its FIR related to the controversial deal, the agency said Dayanidhi was involved in 'abetting the acceptance of illegal gratification [over Rs 540 crore]' from Malaysian firm Maxis.
