CCS calls off Devas-Isro deal
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS)on Thursday terminated the controversial Antrix-Devas S-Band spectrum deal between Isro's commercial wing Antrix and Devas, according to media reports.
Earlier on Wednesday, Devas multimedia issued a statement saying its deal with Antrix has not been cancelled or annulled by the government and said it expects the Centre to fulfill all its obligations under the agreement and that it will take strong, including legal steps to protect the company's rights and interests.
Devas CEO Ramachandran Vishwanathan told a business daily in an interview that the company has a leagally binding contract and will take necessary actions to protect the it’s interests.
