CD war between BJP, Congress in Bastar bypoll
The just-concluded byelection to Bastar (ST) Lok Sabha constituency has triggered a CD war between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Congress in Chhattisgarh with the latter releasing a CD showing alleged tampering of EVMs by the saffron workers.
Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi, who was seen distributing `100 notes to voters at a rally in Bastar on April 27 in a CD released by the BJP on the eve of the byelection, played a CD before mediapersons here on Tuesday showing tampering of an EVM allegedly by local BJP men. Mr Jogi alleged that the rigging took place in the premises of a school in Kirandul area in Dantewada district immediately after polling on Sunday. The CD showed a man opening a suitcase containing an EVM, fiddling with the machine and then closing it.
