Ceasefire violated at LoC again
India on Saturday accused Pakistani troops of violating the November 2003 ceasefire by firing rocket projectile grenades (RPGs), heavy machine guns and small arms towards its forward posts along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch area.
Indian troops retaliated effectively, resulting in heavy exchanges which were on for five hours. No casualties on the Indian side have been reported but Pakistan said that one of its soldiers was killed and another wounded in what it alleged was an “unprovoked” attack by Indian troops across the de facto border in Rawlakote area facing Poonch.
