Centre acts tough, Raja arrest is likely

New Delhi, Feb. 1: The controversial former telecom minister, Mr A. Raja, could be in for trouble. Sources in the Centre as well as the DMK-led front in TN revealed that Mr Raja could be behind bars in the next few days.

Action could be taken on the basis of a report of the Justice Shivraj Patil committee on the 2G spectrum scam. And if it is taken before the Budget Session of Parliament beginning on February 21, it could make the corruption issue redundant, they feel. A Union minister on Tuesday said he too “heard” about action (arrest) against Mr Raja in the coming days.
