Centre to blame for Mamata attack: BJP
Criticising the Central government for their failure to provide adequate security to West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and her council of ministers, BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Tuesday said that the Congress should take the responsibility for the attack in Delhi. The Trinamul Congress MPs were assaulted by SFI supporters in New Delhi on last Tuesday.
“No one is safe in Delhi and the way Mamataji was heckled during her official visit to Planning Commission, the Central government should take responsibility,” Mr Hussain said while addressing his first press conference in town.
Mr Hussain also accused the Congress-led UPA alliance of influencing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to gain political mileage against political parties that have withdrawn their support from UPA alliance. “Right now, the UPA has three parties supporting it from outside — Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the CBI. They are misusing the CBI’s power to suit their own interests.”
On the PM issue, Mr Hussain said, “In the coming Lok Sabha election, many parties will join NDA.”
