Centre to wait for HC decision
New Delhi, Oct. 11: The Union government is expected to wait for the view of the Karnataka High court before taking a decision on the report of the Governor, Mr H.R. Bhardwaj, seeking imposition of President’s Rule in the state. The 16 disqualified Karnataka MLAs on Monday moved the High Court with a petition challenging the action against them by the Assembly Speaker. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court adjourned till Tuesday.
The Congress sources made it clear the Centre would not act in haste after realising that any decision (imposing President’s Rule) can be challenged in court.
